I just tried one, im a Rickards Red lover but hey Samuel Adams has convincing commercials. So yesterday I bought a six pack and ear wax taste is the best description I can come up with to describe the after taste. Ive have countless brands of beer over the years in a quest to find the ultimate, this aint it. Rickards Red is the best, I feel sorry for you yankies.

Which one did you get? Sam Adams itself is alright, but a lot of their others are really good. Cherry Wheat for instance and my favorite is the Summer Ale.

I just took a sip and confirmed. It does taste kind of ear-waxy.

    Sam Adams is great.

    Lots of hops.

If I can't find an IPA, Sam Adams is the choice.

did you check the date on the beer? it may have gotten skunked somehow. i've tried practically every permutation and haven't had a ear waxy taste.

    This from EarWaxReview dot com:

Opaque and unfiltered, with a slight, albeit, intensely rotten toasted orange nose elements; bitter, like toned down belly lint flecked with pine sap giving it a maltier, if not cloying, sticky mouthfeel, and a chewy finish with a heady and lingering aftertaste.

Agreed!!! The Cherry Wheat is phenomenal.

Sam Adams is a decent beer considering the size of distribution. There are many flavors so try a few of them out. In the end though, it isn't, and never will be ... brewed in Belgium. And with that fact, it will never be a "great" beer company.

Have to agree. The Cherry Wheat has a nice flavor.

I'm not as big on Sam as I use to be. The first time I ordered one at a bar I felt like the commercials.

I have had Sam Adams before, but I can't say it tasted like earwax (based not on my own experience but on the description above).

I like Becks better that those trendy microbrew-wannabees, like Sam Adams. Another good beer is Fat Tire from a Ft. Collins CO brewery whose name escapes me.

My top three are Becks, Fat Tire and Fosters.

Sam Adams tastes like cat ass. They use so much hops and crap in it, it gives me a headache.
