I have decided to minimize the car craziness in my life, spend more time boating, and looking for a house on the water in a very congested area (ie: sit at traffic lights).
As any of you can see on this board my 550 has required some cash to fix it up after I purchased it 18 months ago from Steve Barney at SportAuto.

She now is a very solid driver. The latest is the brake light issue, and the CEL which decides to come on every few weeks or so, then goes off after a few days. The gas filler door is not opening.

The rest of the car is great, and has brand new Michelin PS2s (100 miles ago).
I have all books and records and will be 1000% honest about the car in every detail to the best of my knowledge...and can attest to the fact that every issue I have had has been written about in this 550 section.

I am intensely busy at work, can't be bothered to deal with hassles or bottom feeders, and strokes crying for PPIs. I am in the midst of working it as a trade at a local dealer for a Porsche Panamera Turbo.

$55K and the car is yours.

I am also getting rid of my Maserati Gransport. 2006, 29K miles, Bianco Fuji with full black leather in 100% perfect condition.

$40K and that car is yours too.

I will enjoy my 1959 Maserati 3500GT as my toy car when it is done being restored.

    PM me if interested.

    Thanks.

    Rob

All because of a possible faulty brake light switch and jammed gas lid?

He had a good experience at Ferrari of Tampa, Simon. It's time to get that 550 back there.

The intermittent Check Engine Light could just be a loose wiring harness connector.

I'd like to steal it, but a little whine may come with it...
By reading your posts, it seems that you have already performed a PPI.
    Have Porsche trade...
Oh, and I am a bottom feeder as well.
    Just being honest...

Maybe you're right....time for Ferrari of Tampa.
Now I'm doing maintenance on my 45' boat too!

I want my life to be simpler. Maybe I'l do the work and then see about selling it....I dunno.

Screw the Florida dealers. Take it to Atlanta and have Tom McKeller work on it. He is probably the only guy in the South East worth a damn based on the stories I hear.

    Ha...Rifledriver stirring the pot! :)

550 specs?...I thought all you guys knew my car.

    2000 550
    Titanium/Bordeaux
    ~39.5K miles
Body in superb shape. Small scratch on rear bumper corner (not by me!), rock chips on front air dam, the usual stuff for a 10 year old car.
    tubi.
Interior in great shape, I redid the leather over the airbag.
    Has wrinkled HVAC control area.
    Some sticky HVAC controls.
All services up to date, all books/records.
4 new Michelin PS2s about 100 mile ago.
Mechanicals are perfect as far as I know. Seriously, I have done the work. :)
Now there are these annoying issues to deal with like gas filler cap, brake lights, CEL just came on this weekend...but it does this every now and then. Some dirt on a sensor I wager.
    Drives perfectly.

But, honestly, the smart thing for me to do is get it up to Ferrari of Tampa, get it sorted again. And then drink some wine, and ask myself if I can really part with my first Ferrari.

My issue is garage space. When the '59 Maserati is done, that will signal my 5th car...with a 3 car garage! Dang.

I am considering consolidating my cars into a super high performance daily driver that is also comfortable driving in a congested area...but can explode when given the chance. Oops....Porsche...no explosions...that is for Italian machinary. :)

Thank you for the compliment. It's actually a 911T. Rare orignal Leaf green color...matching numbers. I have some more pics on my home computer, but none now. Sadly I have designated this car as having to be off'd in my quest for a 550.

If you want it fixed take it to Atlanta. If you want continued frustration continue with your current plan. It really is easy, you need a good mechanic. You don't have one yet and I am giving you the name of one of the best in the country.

There are a very few really good mechanics in this country and a whole bunch of stumble bumbs. It's up to you but quit crying when the car doesn't get fixed.

+1 get it fixed correctly, enjoy her and put some miles on it and THEN sell it for $65K :)

nothing better in life than driving a Ferarri that is running correctly.

Ouch! That's painful to see. What did that get caught in or drive through? And reading that title, I thought for sure I was going to be reading something else. "The wife and I will be out of town, garage is unlocked, and keys are in the Maranello's ignition. I hope nothing happens to it!" Would that be a thread to read! :) ;)
