Yes, for every rule there is an exception especially when it comes to those elusive carbon wheels...;)

I don't mind a black wheel per se so long as there is something associated to it that gives it actual presence on the car. The yellow caps and colored calipers help do that. The problem with black wheels is they can look good close up but in photos they very rarely look any good and, from many angles and distances they disappear entirely.....which is a pity really....especially given the additional cost. It's interesting also to note that the black wheels look really good close up and, with the naked eye, but that same alluring look is not manifested in photos. That's the naked eye for you!

I was actually tempted to go the black wheels on my Pista with the yellow caps and calipers but made a last minute change to the grey. I must admit that the black close up -looking with the naked eye - looked sinister on the car with that caliper and center cap combo. And the Pista is certainly a car with intent!

Agree the carbon wheels are quite nice close up. It's when you put some distance between them and the eye that becomes more the issue for me personally, as they vanish entirely. This again is where the colored center caps and calipers come to the rescue.

Me calling the stripe dumb was not to say that its dumb. Its just making fun of the fact that Ferrari can charge 15k for a stripe and idiots like me call it a must have. I agree with you that its a neccesary must have option on the Pista. I wont go so far as to say that the Pista looks dumb without the stripe but I have not personally cared of any of the Pistas that I see that did not have a stripe.

I agree.... besides the black wheels never fly on me because at photos it seems the car is floating :-(
Grey wheels is the way to go; and it hides the brake dust too :)

I didnt go for red or yellow calipers either. I would have been happy not to include the shield also, but alas that may be a tough sell in the years ahead.

Real progress now to see your Pista finished! Does the spec plate read correctly for what you originally ordered for your car? Glad to see it with the stripe livery as that has become a very popular option. Thank you for sharing your new Pista here.
