I still want the 720. I have the 458 in the garage right now, but I feel like the garage will be completed only when I have at least a 720 (765LT ideally) and then a Huracan to replace the 458 with. I think I need the Mac for pure driving and the Huracan for the engine to be truly satisfied.

I can get behind that plan.

Need to get my 296 refund first... already saving cars on Cars.com. ;) O'Gara invited me to their McLaren and hypercars evening event here at the Wynn in two weeks.

Could get a 720S for less than half the price of the 296. Spider mid 200s. Obviously 765 and 750S are more around the 296 in the 400k range.

Other cars I'm considering are actually the other way for collectability or nostalgia: early RWD Diablos, 993TT or even Ford GT (ok that's back in the 400k range but likely to hold).

If budget is an issue- for sure 720 is a great buy but 750/765 are next level. Test drive both/all.

I was at O’Gara Wynn a few weeks back to check out my racing sim. I have the same one they have coming.

Good luck and sorry for the 296 issues. Truly sucks.

Ryalex, what's the issue with the 296? Are you refunding on the GTB or the GTS you had on order? I might sell my 720 when my 296 GTS arrives, but it's still not even in production. I'm wavering on whether to sell or keep.

Details here ^. TL/DR: delivered to me with a bad V6 block. 85 days to replace the engine. They wouldn’t negotiate so I started buyback and left the car at the dealer when they finished.

Dude, that sucks. I have to say McLaren is no walk in the park when it comes to customer service, they haven't made me feel "valued" as a multi time buyer, but I haven't had any issues on the level you experienced, either. No excuse for a broken engine...

Take them to court...I bet you know a good lawyer!

Respectfully disagree. I had a very minor gripe with Aston Martin (not even over a car), but over a collaboration product. The head of AM North America called me personally and apologized to me. She then sent me as a "gift" a $1,200 leather duffel bag (still have the bag, but the car was sold recently). This was pre-Stroll, but Aston did a great job making the customer feel valued. Even if I lost my ass on depreciation (it wasn't that bad in the end)....

1800 miles. Have never pushed it to this point- you can’t on public roads. Rides nicer than my C8 Z06. Styling is awesome. People that are brand loyalists, jaded car snobs, look it over and start having thoughts (the volcano orange certainly helps).

I love the thing. I have likened it to a Lotus in steering feel, handling, but with tons of power. Not to mention I have been treated like a king by McLaren compared to a certain other marque.
