Yes, they are really nice looking cars - 70's and 80's really did it for me in terms of road racing. Even something that wasn't totally competitive - it would be great to get out there. I will definitely get into it once there's free budget!

Yes, I do. It's a 1997 Reynard with a turbocharged, methanol burning, 925 hp Cosworth XD. The thing is an absolute blast, but trust me, a modern Atlantic is 90% of the experience. Granted the Champ Car does 1:12's, hits 195 and 4 G's at Road Atlanta while the FA does 1:20's, hits 150 mph and pulls 3 G's, but the FA really does feel like a lighter, more nimble Champ Car. It is probably just as fast, if not faster in the corners.

I wish I had some in-car FA footage to share but I've been reluctant to put a camera on the roll hoop as it creates a vortex on the rear wing. I've been searching for an aerodynamic housing like they use in the F1 and Indy Car series. I do have a bit of Champ Car footage from a test we did at NJMP Thunderbolt last spring. A friend stuck a "hero Cam" on my helmet, too bad the sound was overwhelmed by the wind, the sound is a good part of the fun! 190 on the front straight. If you look carefuly you can spot a 70's F1 car and a Radical... ; )
