Pretty simple. I'm looking to buy an F355 Berlinetta 6 speed. Prefer Rosso red exterior but open to other options.
Lol. I can’t help it if other folks like this car too. Here - the 512 TR is clearly superior. Now sell me your F355. Go fetch! https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/512tr-or-f355-which-one-to-choose.40744/

I’m a master lurker. But thank you! Also it comes up fairly quickly on a F355 vs 512 search and my local dealership has a black 512 TR they wanted me to buy instead of an F355 (which they don’t have). I definitely thought about it, but it’s not what I want…now.
Try looking at pcarmarket. They just had a silver berlinetta up for auction. It didn't reach reserve with a final bid of $100k. It is now listed in their "deal tank" (cars that didn't make reserve in the open auction) with a "buy it now" price of ~$112k. Maybe worth a look. Canadian example, now in Michigan, and it appears to have had a very minor rear end collision that seems quite competently repaired. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and to me the Berlinetta just looks better. So it would be that followed by the GTS in terms of preferences.
Thanks - I've got searches set to alert me when one pops. I'm not going to be hyper-picky but I do want to have this car for a long time so a Canadian, high-ish mileage, collision (even if fixed well) car isn't my first choice. Also I want it in Pull Me Over Red. Never owned a red car and this being a Ferrari I want to go classic with the color.
Press on. Absolutely get what YOU want. You may find it a bit of a challenge to find a red berlinetta or GTS but patience is a rear virtue when Ferrari hunting.
Have you tried an F1? I understand the want for a 6-speed, trust me, but I have driven 50+ 355s of both gated and F1, and I like them completely equally.
I just was told about a 1999 355 GTS f1 Rosso Barchetta/Tan 21,000 mi with fresh major coming up for sale soon Mike
I have driven a 360 and 430 F1 - didn’t care for either to be honest. Now the last Ferrari I drove, a 488 was fairly spectacular despite the lack of a third pedal. For the F355 I want the clutch engagement. I’m open to a converted car from an F1 though.
I was going to say that it would be such a pain to try to get it registered in NY but then I realized that the 1994-96 cars would be 25 years old. Good point. https://www.caranddriver.com/features/g30421131/finally-legal-cars-you-can-bring-to-the-us-in-2020/
I’ll be curious what this car sells for, as I imagine will many others. As another poster noted, there seem to be lots of similar cars available in Europe for much less - it seems priced about 40% too high IMO. Going to stick with being patient and take up to 9 months to get the car I want. Let’s see what the market does over that time.
The six speed 355 Berlinetta and GTS will fluctuate a bit but will continue to go up over time. It will be the Ferrari everyone will look back at and say UGH!!!! I should have bought one when I had the chance. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I think [emoji848] it’s priced ok for the current market. Will it correct ? Yes but not back to what it was. Just like air cooled Porsche. This car is 150-170k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One will have to evaluate the added cost of bringing a car over from Europe when it is all said and done. If exchange rates are in our favor, then it would be worth the effort to look in Europe for a deal or even just a car for that matter as there is virtually none here. If you’re asking me… a 7k mi red manual coupe is a $200k+ car here. I highly doubt you’ll find one in Europe for less than $150k before importing costs. I see Japan looking to Europe for 355’s as well. Stradale Vintage just sold a black manual coupe to Japan. Expect euro inventory to be depleted in a year as the rest of the world gobbles them up.
