Great cause! (part 3; FINALE) Great cause, PLEASE donate!

The jist: The Relay for Life is an overnight, 16 hour team walk-a-thon which raises money, spreads knowledge and awareness, and honors those who have been touched by cancer. The money raised for the Relay for Life specifically goes to research, education, advocacy, and patient and family services. The Relay represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.

As my college career is winding down (two months until graduation), this will most certainly be my final year as the Chairman of Fundraising, and a Board Member of the Students of Albany Against Cancer, and I’d love to go out with a ‘bang’. To do so, for the final time, “I am calling on you; our good friends, family members, and business associates, those who are in a position of power and influence, those who can help fight this horrible epidemic.”

How you can help? We’ve set up a completely secure website that allows friends to donate directly to the Cancer Society. Of course, as this is a charitable donation, it is tax deductible. It’s EXTREMELY easy to use!

I am extremely proud of my brother that he can set aside a beer or the keys to an exotic car and really contribute to the world at large that doesn't contain 100 calories or a V8 engine. Kenny has continued to amaze our family with his fundraising efforts and we'll always be there to support him. This is a great cause and hope everyone who has a few dollars available can support, I'm sure we all know someone who has been touched by Cancer.

$6,170.00! My all-time high! Last year I ended up just under $4,500, and the year before was in the mid-3's.. The Relay is Saturday so we're running out of time..

 

Just wanted to thank everyone who participated this year as I've reached an ALL-TIME high!! The Relay starts tomorrow morning and it'll last ~18hrs - so I'm gonna hit the sack..
