I'm going to redo the radiator foam seals under my hood. I'd prefer to buy material and cut myself to save money. Suggestions for a good source?

Also, I need to put new weather stripping around the front deck lid. Same question. Suggestions for a good source of material that I can cut to fit?

    Thanks,
    Mark

For the foam I went to Lowes and got A/C sealer foam. I have an extra left over I can give you at the next C&C

Thanks. I'll pick some up. No need to take your spare -- have a Lowes and a Home Depot within a minute from my house.

Save some trouble and get from T rutland. They're nicely done with all the proper tapers as original from great material. AND they didn't cost a fortune.

I appreciate the suggestion. If they weren't $40+ for each of the two pieces, I'd do that. I just don't feel like spending $100 on two strips of foam that I can make myself for under $10. Also, T. Rutlands is out of stock on one of the two, as are most others.

I'd still appreciate suggestions on the weather stripping around the front deck lid.

It sounds like MNExotics has some good stuff for you. I bought my foam from Grainger, cut it down with an electric carving knife and mounted it with 3M 90. When Wade corrected my front bonnet, he cut the spare tire tub section down a bit more, to keep it from putting stress on the bonnet.

Much appreciated. I did do some searching and found one or two of those, but it helps to see them all in one spot!

Armaflex, it's closed cell, and has a skin on one side.

I did Haley's car as it left for Chicago and she says she has gotten a few comments on the job!

It's for coating HVAC equipment, various thicknesses, IMO 1" is about right for our strips.
Someone like Johnstone Supply would stock it.
It cuts with a bread knife.

The weatherstripping for doors at Lowes/Home Depot is open cell, which will HOLD WATER, and deteriorate a lot faster than my suggestion.
