and yes the GTO is slower than a SCUD as indeed significantly, is the CS, however from CS and SCUD are related series, whereas the GTO is not and whatever you might claim the SCUD is a better drive, so not sure where you are going here. Just as an additional note I have just sold my SCUD and bought a 991.1 GT3RS which is a massively better experience than either, I keep my tuned 430 spider as a summer daily commute

Funny enough one of my Scud owning friends just did the very same thing. Sold his Scud and bough the exact same car! Enjoy it they are very very good track cars.

Just to show how subjective these things are as if we didn’t know, I have big respect for PureValueMetrics posts from years past, but I would strongly disagree that a 991.1 GT3RS is a massively better experience than a Scud. A great car, and a better car objectively, and I hope it gives you many miles of happy motoring through the Alps, but a better experience? Absolutely not for me. Unless the experience is solely on a track.

A Scud gives you sensations through the steering, the throttle, through your ears and through your behind that a GT3RS cannot come close to matching. At speeds where the Porsche just feels competent (fast normal road use) the Scuderia is alive.

But it's horses for courses. Some people will prefer an Atom over a Scud, not my cup of tea but is personal preference.

    GT3RS is magnificent though, enjoy.

It's true but I think that is the problem as much as it is the solution...

    Fully agree.

Every generation of car gives something new and takes something away too...

We are on a such a slippy slope towards fully autonomous driving of fully tracked mobile phones with seats inside.. Heeeellllp..

My Stradale weighed 3080 with half a tank of gas, my F40 weighed 3040 half a tank as well and on the exact same scale.

Richard, I'm curious why you got rid of the Scud? Always one of my favorite cars and was actually thinking about getting into one. Funny that you got a GT3 RS because that was the other one i was eyeing

Well I had it down to an as new 488 GTB or a 991 RS, 488 is fast but no emotion, however the RS when you drive it fast or slow is a very emotional and enjoyable event, I didnt track the SCUD and always drove my 430 Spider as a summer daily, so it was a sunday morning car. I found exactly the right RS for me and so it was a no brainer to swap

Car looks awesome! Drove one and loved it. I totally agree, I didn't like the 488 at all. I would never consider one.

Love the purple paint! And the car underneath it!

The RS is definitely more fun to drive than a 488; the tail likes to kick out. I think the only ever constant thing that nags at me about Porsches is the general lack of presence when compared to the other manufacturers, everything else is pretty awesome, even the exhaust note esp on-track sounds great.

The new GT4, stick only, looks mighty sexy and for once has the right motor in it...tempting...

Not quite a direct answer to this question but anyone interested in weights of our cars has to read this essential thread by our own 360Trev who is evidently too modest to point it out himself. The information about the different specs/definitions/countries is amazing.

I find that fact that the Challenge Stradale is still measured against such cars as the Pista some fifteen years later speaks volumes about the model. From a performance standpoint, there is no question that the Scud is a superior car. We could say that about each successive "special" model. The question for me is are they better Ferrari's.
