Dave,

I did. He took the low road (being a moderator and all) and posted it on-line.

Ah, and the response comes via email:

"Like I said before. And I will use very small words for you this time. I will not give you any pictures or s/n of any cars..ever."

And after all those challenges to Tony, Jonas and others to post pics or s/ns?

"I was sitting in my garage looking at it wondering how long will this take. It is all black."

Hi Matt, it really sounded to me like you were certain that you were describing an all black car up until Dave E pointed out the discrepancies in the photos. I must've misunderstood.

Do you have any pics of the entire car in this unusual state that you describe?

Wayne,

you are trying to piece together a complete story with only 20% it in threads on F-chat.
The front hood was not original to the car. It was a replacement from another car that the P.O. added who started the restoration long before I became involed.

"It will live again. There is something cool about an all black 512bbi"

That was based on a decision to paint the car all black then the red/black it was. Needless to say the car was left red/black.

Has anyone seen this car in person or at least seen photos of the entire car?

http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/127572.html

At first it is described as all black:

"I may take you up on the offer. I was sitting in my garage looking at it wondering how long will this take. It is all black. I would hate to see a f car parted out, there are not that many still running and being driven. I love the sound of that motor. My wife thinks I am crazy."

And then again:

"It will live again. There is something cool about an all black 512bbi"

But after those seven pics were posted, Dave E noticed something odd:

"I noticed in your pictures 2 different color
cars.Is the motor and trans. in a red car?
Also is it registerd in California - not that
it matters for the price you paid but would
make the deal that much better."

The response:

"The car is a two tone black / red. The clam shell and roof are red and the bottom parts are black. It has a non-op from the california dmv. $10 bucks a year."

I have never seen a Boxer with the entire nose painted black but with the clam shell and roof in red. The search for a better pic uncovered this follow-up thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/251280/178210.html

But where did that red pic go?
