From last year. Still can be found quite frequently, and cheaply, on eBay. Artwork by Benoit DeLiege Image Unavailable, Please Login
I right-clicked and saved the photo below, from the 'Net some time back. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to captioning it properly at the time. Can anybody please shed any light as to who the model builder may have been ? It's definately not by one of the two JS's, mentioned above. Possibly another PdC ?? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Due mostly to Mairesse's accident at Spa - #0850 competed in only 2 championship races during the '67 season - Daytona and Spa. Both races were D.N.F.'s. .... However she did finish second overall in the 1000Kms de Paris at Monthléry, in October, '67. Small, rather poor quality B&W photo, and a better colour one, showing Lucien Bianchi sat, smiling, in the cockpit, below: Anybody got any more (better) photos of #0850 from this event ? Edit - I found another small (poor quality) colour image here: http://memoiresdestands.hautetfort.com/images/1000km675.jpg
Is this now a "P4replica" thread? Seem's that you were falling in love with #0850, Paul. Nice picture with Lucien Bianchi in that beautifull yellow Ferrari. Unfortunatelly, Lucien lost his life in Le Mans 1969 during practice with his Alfa-Romeo 33/3. He was a great pilot. I found this picture in a French magazine. Jo Siffert stopped in #0854 and #0850 is comming behind, at Monthléry 1967. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey, Francis - have I so much as even mentioned the words 'P4 replica' in this thread ? No. THIS is the 'P4 Replica ....' thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7565&page=4 .... (in C,M,B&P) Hmmm. But even that one seems to have 'turned a bit yellow', lately. LOL !!
.... and actually, I preferred #0850 in red (rightly or wrongly) as the N° 24 .... for obvious reasons.
Some pictures I took at Ault Park 2006... Hmmm. So indeed it does. Don't know how I missed that. Probably too busy scrolling forward to pictures N°s 25 and 26.
Can anybody please shed any light as to who the model builder may have been ? It's definately not by one of the two JS's, mentioned above. Possibly another PdC ??[/QUOTE] The model builder is William DePooter of Belgium. Gramps
Thanks for that, Gary. Yes, I know of Wim. He's one of Charlie Fox's GPMA modelling buddies. Didn't know he was that good. Impressive work.
Yes the chassis for 0850 and 0854 were built with the other P3 Chassis but not built up into cars (412P's) until 67.
A couple of super colour photos of #0850 being unloaded at Spa in 1992 for the FF40 meeting .... .... kindly emailed me by Francis Muller ('GIOTTO'). I wonder who the young gentleman might be, sat in the car in the upper photo. Is that you, by any chance, 'Roadtripguy' ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those two photos above, of #0850 being unloaded, reminded me me of another photo of #0850 that I'd seen in that link: http://www.davidcastelhano.com/index_005.html .... the bottom R.H. one. Notice anything unusual ? Like the K/O's ?? These photos were taken by David Castlehano, as #0850 was being readied for shipment back to Europe, for the Goodwood F.o.S., 1994. So I emailed David, and asked if he could email me the original high-res version - which he kindly did - along with a few more images. David wrote: Clever stuff - saves grovelling underneath the car, to find chassis / suspension parts to tie the car down, during transit. Sorry, even though the '0850' thread seems to have fizzled out for the moment - I couldn't resist posting these two photos. I found them here, in a 'Ferrari 412P' thread on Ultimate Car Page: http://www.***************.com/forum/434169-post8.html I recognised that red Converse All-Star sneaker, in the first photo, before Jim even got into the (second) frame !!
