How much are they? So instead of the nightmare $10k bills for an actuator of the old days...you can essentially refresh the entire system, including labour and the TCU for less than that.
Since he has them all cracked Im sure there will be improvements down the road to make it more bulletproof or faster more parameters. May just get me interested enough to get one
I believe GTE Engineering has 360CS F1's shifting faster than factory shift times. I'm excited for the the future holds in the aftermarket scene for these cars. Cost of tech is steadily declining. I'm not one for keeping cars completely stock so I welcome improvements that retain the original appeal.
Why do I need to mention what I own? If I did, the list would be much longer than you posted. Additionally I am not looking to buy another Testarossa. I merely looked at it at the auction. If It was a better car, Id of upgraded .
If you changed your wording from driven to owned or own youd be more inline. As for the Valeo, yes I drove one. TERRIBLE.
So you've "driven" a Valeo Mondial, but don't actually know anything about them. Your use of the word "clutchless" infers that it doesn't have a clutch, which is false. But then, you're entitled to your opinion.
My question was regarding low mileage vs high mileage, simple as that. It's 10k miles per year for 5 years vs 10k miles in 5 years. Saying a modern car is reliable because 1 system has worked flawlessly for 15k miles is ridiculous to me. It should work for way longer than that, which is why I asked if any higher mileage F1 owners can comment on the reliability to be expected.
I read it as clutchless referring to the verb clutch or drivers action of clutching. Kind of like a Rekluse clutch on a motorcycle ( I had those in my bikes in my Motocross days) . For intents and purposes to the operator, it has no clutch. I suspect that is what he meant? I never knew the Mondial had that until I goggled the Valeo. I'd love to try one one day, the idea at least is a good one.
There are not many 355's around with more than 30K-40K miles. Yes, there are exceptions but there are many more in that mile range than above so the data point I provided is a valid and useful a data point. And, it's 15.5K and counting. If you asked your question differently such as the total amount of miles, then I would have responded differently. But, you had asked "how many miles do you (F1 owners) average per year" and IMO, it's far less valuable of how many miles per year than having total miles driven with data on repairs. I'd also say a 355 F1 is 21 years old, that's not far from 2/3's of your time on the earth if I recall correctly so it's not really a "modern car". Not to get too far off topic but a much more modern car is a 458 and that F1 system is "modern" and dead reliable.
It has a full clutch, exactly the same as the 348. Same trans as well (but different housing). The shifting is actuated differently. There's a long thread on the Valeo... a bit off the rails at times, but good overall. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/valeo-registry.226987/ https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/valeo-quick-drive.574358/ Several owners here absolutely love the Valeo, and Hank is our SME and Chief Advocate.

A thread about which car is better. This car (that people are passionate about), or that car(that people are passionate about). And there’s arguments?? Shocking!!!
Well one can "argue" all they want but it IS the 348, its irrefutable even if one refutes it or likes something else better. That's subjective, objectively its the 348. Let's rev this thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That s true but the most of the ones I have seen fail are generally 5 years with quite a few miles. Has something changed?
Two locations? Or two with the same name? https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/gte-engineering-of-pompano-beach-any-recomendations.559603/
